This beautiful film from Japan was directed by Tetsuo Shinohara. It is based on two novels. Tetsuji Tamayama stars as Kenta, a talented concert pianist preoccupied with his career. He greatly admires the work of another musician named Shoko (Yuko Takeuchi), a woman who passed away at a young age. When Kenta unexpectedly suffers a job loss, he experiences overwhelming grief. He wanders into a drinking establishment and overindulges. From that point, events take a very unexpected turn indeed. The movie addresses themes of fulfillment and happiness.
