In this 1988 performance, The Herbie Hancock Trio plays together with famed vocalist Bobby McFerrin and saxophonist Michael Brecker. Jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock is perhaps one of the most famous contributors to the post-bop (a small combo jazz style) sound of the 1960s and '70s. He began his career with the Miles Davis Quintet where he helped to revolutionize the jazz rhythm section and later became known for his early adoption of the synthesizer, which led to his signature Jazz Rock Fusion style. In this live 1988 concert, held at the Munich Philharmonie, The Herbie Hancock Trio, with Hancock on piano, Buster Williams on bass, and Al Foster on drums, welcome vocalist Bobby McFerrin and saxophonist Michael Brecker for a mostly improvised concert. Together they play some of Hancock's most famous compositions, and in the second half, Hancock improvises on an IBM computer-enhanced Bösendorf Concert Grand.
