Home Alone: Holiday Heist is a 2012 Christmas movie directed by Peter Hewitt. It stars Christian Martyn as Finn, a young boy who finds himself home alone during the holiday season with his sister, Alexis, and his parents out of town. The family is staying in their newly inherited house, which happens to be an old mansion filled with secret passageways and hidden treasure. However, the house is also being targeted by a group of thieves led by Sinclair, played by Malcolm McDowell, who are after the valuable paintings and antiques hidden within.

Finn is excited to spend Christmas in the new house, but things quickly turn sour when he realizes that he's left his family's luggage behind at the airport. His parents, desperate to get to their tropical vacation, instruct Finn to take care of the house and his sister while they retrieve their luggage. Finn is initially reluctant at the responsibility but soon finds himself enjoying the peace and quiet of having the house to himself. However, his solo Christmas is disrupted when he discovers that the thieves are planning to rob the mansion on Christmas Eve.

Finn is determined to thwart the thieves' plans and protect his family home. He enlists the help of his neighbor, Mason, played by Eddie Steeples, who is a bit of a conspiracy theorist and a little eccentric. Mason, despite his quirks, is resourceful and Finn comes to rely on his help. Along with Alexis, Finn and Mason set up traps throughout the mansion to deter the thieves while also trying to uncover the hidden treasure.

Jodelle Ferland plays Alexis, Finn's teenage sister who is initially dismissive of Finn's alarm over the thieves. However, as the situation escalates she becomes increasingly involved in the plan to protect the house. Finn and Alexis bicker like typical siblings throughout the movie, but they ultimately come together to protect their home and each other.

The thieves themselves are the typical bumbling villains that one would expect in a Home Alone movie. Malcolm McDowell as Sinclair, the leader of the group, is suave and sophisticated but ultimately inept. The rest of the thieves, including Debra Wilson as Jessica, are equally ineffective at carrying out their plans due to Finn's clever traps.

As they attempt to thwart the thieves, Finn and Mason discover that the mansion is hiding a darker secret than just hidden treasure. The house has a history of being haunted and they are convinced that there is a ghost (or ghosts) lurking about the house. Their investigation into the haunting adds a bit of mystery and intrigue to the plot.

Overall, Home Alone: Holiday Heist is a festive and fun family movie. It doesn't take itself too seriously and plays up the comedic elements that fans of the original Home Alone movie will recognize. It has the classic Home Alone plot of a child thwarting inept criminals with clever traps, but with the added twist of a haunted mansion and a hidden treasure. The movie has a message about family and the importance of sticking together in times of crisis, and it's a heartwarming addition to anyone's list of Christmas movies to watch.

Home Alone: Holiday Heist is a 2012 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 27 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.5.
