Roger Auque is a photographer who hails from the beautiful and generally peaceful country of France. His latest assignment leads him to the war torn country of Lebanon, specifically its Beirut. He is sent there during a very hostile moment in the country's history, a moment later referred to as the Lebanese Hostage Crisis. Auque is captured by forces in Beirut and his taken to their sanctuary until they decide what to do with him. The next few moments of his life are filled with moments of extreme torture and endless brainwashing, the likes of which would have destroyed a normal man.
