After the death of a loving father and husband the Coltrane family is devastated. Set in Arizona, the family is used to the finer things in life, but without the financial support of the very successful father it all begins to fall apart. Eventually, they realize that they will not be able to make ends meet and are forced to move in with an eccentric brother-in-law named Darryl.

Culture shock hits the Coltrane family as they find themselves living in a ramshackle house with a gun-loving recluse. Things become twisted even further with the arrival of Sarah, a girl who claims that Robert Coltrane promised to adopt as soon as possible. While the Coltrane family continues to struggle with Sarah and Robert’s peculiar brother-in-law, their life quickly transitions from uncomfortable to deadly. Unfortunate accidents and incidences meet them at every corner and the life of the Coltrane family becomes a deadly game of cat and mouse unless they can unravel the mystery of Sarah and her why she has shown up at their doorstep.
