Shoe salesman Bernie is living a lonely life filled with nothing more than the chocolate kisses of the title he buys everyday from a candy store. Living with his mother and grandfather, Bernie sees his life change for the better when he meets and falls in love with a woman called Freida. In a bid to win her love Bernie changes his entire life and stops eating the chocolate that helped make him insecure about his weight, problems begin for Bernie when he uncovers Freida's motives for her interest in him.
