Two-time Grammy Award winner, James Brown, has over 100 charted hits to his name. Born 3rd May 1933 in South Carolina, Brown grew up through poverty. After joining the Gospel Starlighters in 1953, later to be known as the Famous Flames, Brown find success with the group's first single 'Please Please Please'. In 1958 Brown's first number 1 hit, 'Try Me' is released.
