"Karol: A Man Who Became Pope" is a TV mini-series that was a joint project between several different countries, predominantly Poland and Italy. It's a biopic about Karol Wojtyła, who would one day become Pope John Paul II. The series begins in 1939, when he was a 19-year-old living in Poland, and ends in 1978, when he was elected Pope. The series was a success and spawned a sequel that covered Wojtyla's career as Pope.
