Katakuti is a Bengali drama film directed by Debaditya Bandopadhyay, that explores the intricacies of relationships and the impact of modern technology on them. The movie features Kharaj Mukherjee and Sreelekha Mitra in lead roles. The film is set in Kolkata and revolves around the lives of two couples - Aditya (Kharaj Mukherjee) and Preeti (Sreelekha Mitra), and Abhi (Saayoni Ghosh) and Sanchari (Abhijit Guha Thakurta). Aditya is a successful businessman who is constantly busy with work, while Preeti is a homemaker who feels neglected and unloved by her husband due to his busy schedule. On the other hand, Abhi is a struggling actor and Sanchari is a housewife, who is very supportive of her husband's dreams.

The story takes an interesting turn when Aditya decides to install a CCTV camera in his house to keep a check on Preeti's activities. He becomes obsessed with monitoring her every move, and as a result, Preeti feels suffocated and trapped. She confides in her friend Sanchari about her predicament, who in turn tells Abhi. Abhi and Sanchari decide to help Preeti by hacking into Aditya's CCTV camera and deleting all the footage. However, things take an unexpected turn when Aditya finds out about their plan and a bitter confrontation ensues between the two couples.

What follows is a series of events that not only test the strength of their relationships but also bring to light the impact of technology on human interactions. The movie beautifully portrays the complexity of relationships and how they are affected by factors such as trust, jealousy, and possessiveness.

Kharaj Mukherjee delivers a brilliant performance as Aditya, portraying the character's obsession and possessiveness with subtlety and nuance. Sreelekha Mitra exudes vulnerability and strength as Preeti, a woman torn between her love for her husband and her need for freedom. Saayoni Ghosh and Abhijit Guha Thakurta also deliver commendable performances as Abhi and Sanchari respectively.

The movie is well-paced and keeps the audience engaged throughout its runtime. The music by Anindya Chatterjee is soulful and adds to the emotional depth of the film. The cinematography by D Subhankar is impressive, capturing the nuances of human gestures and expressions with finesse.

Overall, Katakuti is a poignant and thought-provoking film that highlights the fragility of human relationships and the impact of technology on them. It is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates quality cinema.
