Kantatar Offers Beautiful Story And Beautiful Backdrop Kantatar tells of a Bengali refugee, Sudha who is trying to establish her own identity. Kantatar which means barbed wire in English tells of life as an illegal immigrant who from man to man and religion to religion in her search her own uniqueness. When the army arrives in town, the small village changes and suspicion, fear and competition causes Sudha to seek a different home and a more safe refuge. She finds temporary shelter with a weather camp outside the village and embarks on a relationship with the meteorologist stationed there. The story is beautifully told and the beautiful countryside gives it a richer flavor of real life.
