Kitchen Stories is set in post-war Sweden. An average woman would walk the equivalent of Stockholm to the Congo to prepare her family meals. The Home Research Institute decided to place observers in the kitchens of rural Norway to better understand the kitchen routines of bachelors living there. The researchers were available 24/7, residing in specially designated chairs in each kitchen to observe the results. Under no circumstances were the observers to communicate with the men. This is their story.
