The movie is set in Kurulu Bedda, a small village in Sri Lanka. The Bandaras are part of the wealthy elite. Bandara Mahatthaya is the heir to the family riches. His mother is Bandara Menike. Siyadoris works for the Bandaras. Ranmenike is his attractive daughter. Kaithan Baas is a marriage broker who gives advice to Bandara Menike. Bandara Mahatthaya gave up his medical studies to take over the family properties when his father passed away. He soon becomes interested in Ranmenike after seeing her taking a bath.
