Last Resort is a 1986 comedy-drama directed by Zane Buzby. Charles Grodin stars as George Lollar, a New York City-based businessman who finds himself in trouble with the law after being framed for fraud by his boss. In an effort to escape prosecution, George decides to skip town and head to the Caribbean island of St. Antoine. Once on the island, George meets up with his girlfriend, Barbara (played by Robin Pearson Rose), and they check into a run-down hotel called The Last Resort. The hotel is owned and operated by an eccentric couple named Katrinka and Ernst (played by Megan Mullally and Gerrit Graham), who are struggling to keep the hotel afloat.

George and Barbara soon discover that life on St. Antoine isn't exactly paradise. They face a number of challenges, including theft, a hurricane, and a corrupt police force. George also begins to question his decision to leave New York, and wonders if he should return and face the charges against him.

Along the way, George and Barbara meet a number of colorful characters, including a group of American ex-pats who have retired to St. Antoine, and a local fisherman named Coconut Willie (played by Paul Bartholomew). They also discover a secret about the island that could change everything.

One of the highlights of the film is the chemistry between Charles Grodin and Robin Pearson Rose. They have a natural and believable relationship that is fun to watch. John Ashton also delivers a standout performance as Jake, a former colleague of George's who shows up on the island looking for him.

Last Resort is a film that blends comedy and drama in a way that feels authentic. The humor is never forced, and the dramatic moments are handled with care. The film also features beautiful cinematography, with stunning shots of the Caribbean landscape that make you want to book a vacation.

Overall, Last Resort is an enjoyable film that will make you laugh and tug at your heartstrings. It's a great reminder that sometimes the best things in life can be found in unexpected places.
