When Robert Collins is drafted into the United States military, he has mixed feelings. He is a young farmer from a town in rural Idaho. He has never fired a gun except when he went hunting with his father and uncles growing up. This time, he must make his target another human being. Told by his superiors that he will be fighting for freedom, he takes his task seriously. However, after learning of the secrets behind the cause of the "Gold War" he is beginning to have doubts as to the motives of the President. He sets out to investigate.
