In the 1987 film Manithan, a young man is just released from imprisonment. After being in jail for fighting for his liberty, justice and freedom he is finally released after a long while. He was placed into a prison at a very young age and grew up in the jail. The movie begins when he is given his life back by getting out of the prison. The time he spent in jail did not do exactly what the courts and authorities wanted from the prison time. When the young man realizes he has been released and gets to live his life again, he goes on the same journey he had once began at his young fragile stage. Being out of jail did not make him realize anything but for the fact that he indeed needed to fight for his rights once again. He fights again for his freedom for his justice and for his liberty he feels was granted to him by being born a human. Every human deserves the chance to live a free and full life, he has made it clear that he feels this way. He endures many events throughout the movie in which question his motives in life. Through and through the young man proves that he will live the life he wants the way he wants. The movie was given filmed in Hindi. The movie was acclaimed and directed by SP. Muthuraman. All of the movies soundtrack by written by Vairamuthu. The film stars many actors which include Rajinikanth, Rupini (actress) , Raghuvaran, Senthil, Delhi Ganesh, Srividya. The film was filmed in Indian Tamil language, and was also dubbed in Hindi. The movie did hit blockbuster racks and had a 175 days on the shelf. The critics give the film Manithan moderate reviews. The story follows a young man ready to take on the reason he was placed in jail in the first place and pick up where he left off.
