Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King is a short film that runs for around 14 minutes, which premiered in 2014. It is directed by Drew Pearce and the film features performances by Ben Kingsley, Scoot McNairy, Lester Speight, and Sam Rockwell. The movie is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and serves as a post-credit scene for Iron Man 3.

The movie starts with Trevor Slattery, played by Ben Kingsley, talking to a documentary filmmaker who is making a movie about him. Trevor had played the role of The Mandarin in Iron Man 3, but later it was revealed that he was only an actor hired by Aldrich Killian to play a role in his plan. Trevor's portrayal of the villain had angered many people, especially those who were Mandarin fans, leading to questions about his real identity.

Trevor is in prison, and it is shown that he doesn't have an easy time there as he is hated by most of the inmates. The movie tries to give an insight into Trevor's life in prison, what he thinks of himself, and how people see him. Trevor is shown to be a narcissist who loves attention and his stardom, and he can't accept that his role as The Mandarin was fake. Nevertheless, Trevor's narration offers some comedic relief and is enjoyable to watch.

The movie also introduces Jackson Norriss, played by Scoot McNairy, who is a member of the Ten Rings terrorist organization. He comes to Trevor's prison to break him out and take him to their leader. Norriss is a serious character who claims that Trevor has something valuable that they want, but Trevor is unaware of what it is. This is where the plot thickens as the audience is left to question what the organization wants from him.

As Trevor is taken away, he finds himself transported to a far off location, which is revealed to be a terrorist group's hidden palace. The leader of the Ten Rings, a man named Wenwu, is shown to have been leading the organization for years. Wenwu is searching for a successor, and his search ultimately leads him to Trevor. In this moment, the audience is left to wonder if Trevor is who the terrorist organization truly wants or if there is something more happening.

The movie takes a turn when Wenwu shows Ted Sharp, played by Sam Rockwell, who was last seen in Iron Man 2. He is shown as a prisoner and tries to befriend Trevor since they are both famous men who were famous villains. Ted explains to Trevor that he was put in prison because of his dealings with Justin Hammer, and the audience learns that Hammer had come out with a lot of new technology but later had been put in prison himself. The viewers get a sense of closure to Ted's story and a nod to Iron Man 2.

In the end, the viewer gets to understand what the Ten Rings organization wants from Trevor. The plot twist is revealed, and it is something that the fans of the MCU would have never guessed. The movie has a lot of fanservice for MCU fans, and it is exciting to see how Trevor's story finally ends. The plot is well-written, and the pacing of the movie is fast-paced, making it an enjoyable 14-minute break from reality.

Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King packs a lot of information in its runtime. It answers many questions that the fans of the MCU had been asking, and the movie's plot twists were unexpected but satisfying. The performances of Ben Kingsley, Scoot McNairy, Lester Speight, and Sam Rockwell were outstanding, and the writing was clever, making it an excellent addition to Marvel's expanding universe. The short film is a must-watch for fans of the MCU or people who like exciting plots and don't have much time to spare.
