Pascali's Island is set at the start of the twentieth century, in the year 1908, and is a mystery drama about swiftly decaying Ottoman empire. An empire's spy called Pascali sends an intelligence report to the Sultan, yet it appears that nobody pays any attention to the report which seems to be left unread. His doubts emerge as he runs into a British archaeological who seem to be much more than what he portraits to be.

The movie gives a very interesting insight in how Ottoman empire suffered due to a huge, unresponsive and inefficient bureaucracy which was too often narrow-minded and unresponsive to change.

Pascali's Island is an Drama movie that was released in 1988. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.8.
