Directed by Marta Díaz de Lope Díaz, the film features some of Spain's most talented actors and actresses. Gloria Muñoz plays the role of Carmen, while Pepa Aniorte portrays her best friend Carlota, who is the complete opposite of Carmen. The cast also includes Juan Gea, Carlos Santos, and Manuel Morón.

The story begins with Carmen, who is desperate to become a part of the local religious brotherhood in her hometown. She is convinced that the only solution to her problems lies in joining the brotherhood and finally being accepted into society. She has spent years learning everything there is to know about religion, and she believes that she is more than qualified to become a member of the brotherhood.

But her dream of joining the brotherhood is shattered when she accidentally knocks over the statue of the Virgin Mary during the annual procession. The statue is smashed into a thousand pieces, and Carmen is left in a state of shock. Unable to bear the thought of facing the wrath of the brotherhood, she decides to take drastic measures to cover up her mistake.

Carmen's plan involves replacing the broken statue with a new one, and for this, she enlists the help of Carlota. Together, they embark on a hilarious journey to acquire the perfect statue, but their adventure is not without its challenges. As they struggle to find a suitable statue, Carmen's lies begin to catch up with her, leaving her with a mounting sense of guilt and shame.

As the movie progresses, Carmen is forced to confront some uncomfortable truths about herself and her faith. She begins to question her blind devotion to religion and starts to see that her true happiness lies in something else entirely. Along the way, she is supported by Carlota and her other friends, who never stop believing in her.

The film is a lighthearted and charming comedy that is filled with warmth, humor, and heart. The scenes are beautifully shot, and the dialogue is both witty and poignant.
