Missile to the Moon is a 1958 science fiction film that follows two escaped convicts, Gary and Lon, as they stow away on a rocket ship headed for the moon. The astronauts, Dirk and June, are on a mission to find and rescue a missing scientist, Dr. Laird, who has disappeared on the lunar surface. During the journey, Gary and Lon reveal their true identities to the astronauts and offer to help with the mission. However, tensions rise as they discover that Dr. Laird has been taken hostage by a group of underground moon dwellers. The group is led by a beautiful queen, called Zema, who has plans to take over the Earth.
Dirk and June, along with Gary and Lon, must navigate a dangerous terrain filled with cave monsters and treacherous landscapes to save Dr. Laird and stop Zema's plan. Along the way, they discover secrets about the moon and its inhabitants that they never could have imagined.
Richard Travis, Cathy Downs, and K.T. Stevens give strong performances as the lead characters. Travis plays Dirk, the level-headed expedition leader, Downs portrays June, the intelligent and resourceful co-pilot, and Stevens embodies Zema, the captivating and manipulative queen of the moon people.
