Mugshots: Martin Frankel is a crime special that was released straight to DVD in 2013. Before Martin Frankel was arrested, he was an investor. Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Frankel committed investment fraud and stole over $200 million in a ten year span. In 1999 he left the United States and fled to Europe. He was arrested in September in Germany on several counts of insurance fraud, money laundering, and passport fraud, since he used an alias. He was extradited back to the United States in 2001. The following year, Frankel was found guilty of his crimes of fraud and was sentenced to 16 years in a Tennessee federal prison.
