CHARLIE' S BOX (1991, remastered in 2010) A vintage New York City noir drama in the spirit of Cassavettes and Jim Jarmusch; restored 16mm black and white film with original optical sound transfer. SYNOPSIS: Nancy has just moved into an old Brooklyn apartment. Lying among her boxes and clutter is a package addressed to the apartment's former occupant, a mysterious man known only as 'Charlie'. Suddenly, a shady stranger named 'Frank' appears to collect the box - he claims to have been sent by Charlie, and he doesn't want to leave. Produced on 16mm black and white film with original vintage optical sound transfer for archival purity, 'Charlie's Box' is a rare early indie film by filmmaker Jason Rosette of Camerado (www.camerado.com). The movie was lost during the great fire of Oakland, CA for over a decade and and only recently rediscovered, restored, and made available on VOD. Movie plays twice on one stream, once as a standard play, followed once again with a director commentary version. Running Time 14:52 per program = 29:00 TRT (c) 1994-2012 J Rosette / CAMERADO www.camerado.com
