Ni No Kuni is a 2019 anime movie directed by Yoshiyuki Momose and written by Akihiro Hino. The film is based on the video game series of the same name which was developed by Japanese game company Level-5. The movie follows the story of two friends, Yuu and Haru, who live in the same world as a parallel universe called "Ni no Kuni." It is said that in this parallel world, every individual has a doppelganger. The two worlds are connected by a magical force known as the "Thread of Fate." One day, Yuu's childhood friend Kotona gets into an accident and ends up in a coma. The shock of Kotona's accident causes Yuu and Haru to be pulled into the magical world of Ni no Kuni.

In Ni no Kuni, the duo meets Galeroth, a knight who informs them that Kotona's counterpart in the magical world has also fallen into a coma. To save their friend, Yuu, Haru, and Galeroth must embark on a dangerous journey to find the evil witch known as the "Queen of Hearts" who is responsible for the comatose state of both Kotonas.

They are aided in their journey by a small, but determined, cat-like creature that is able to transform into a powerful magical beast, and which accompanies them wherever they go. Along the way, they encounter various other characters, including a clumsy wizard and a wise old sage, who also help them in their quest.

The journey through the world of Ni no Kuni is filled with wonder and danger, as the adventurers travel through various landscapes, from the depths of the ocean to the highest mountain peaks. They face many challenges, including fierce battles against monsters and the forces of the Queen of Hearts. The stakes are high, as failure to find the Queen of Hearts means that both Kotonas will remain in their comatose state.

The animation in Ni no Kuni is absolutely stunning, with the landscapes of the magical world coming to life in vivid detail. The characters are also beautifully rendered, with Yuu, Haru, and Galeroth standing out as particularly impressive designs. The English voice acting is also very good, with voice actors such as Ray Chase and Greg Chun giving excellent performances that add depth to their characters.

The original game soundtrack has been adapted for the film, and it is a perfect fit for the stunning visuals. The music is both epic and emotionally stirring, perfectly matching the tone of the film.

Overall, Ni no Kuni is a beautifully animated and emotionally resonant film that is sure to delight fans of the video game series, as well as those who are new to this magical world. The characters are lovable, the animation is breathtaking, and the story is heart-warming and suspenseful. This is a must-watch film for fans of anime, fantasy, or anyone who simply enjoys a good story.
