Nimir is a Tamil language film from 2018 directed by Priyadarshan. It stars M.S. Bhaskar, Nadiya Kalhara, and J. Mahendran in the lead roles. The movie is a remake of the Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram, which was released in 2016. The plot of the movie revolves around the life of Selvam, a photographer, who takes a vow not to wear slippers until he avenges an insult.

The movie opens with Selvam (Udhayanidhi Stalin) getting into a fight with his friend Guna (Parthiban). The reason for the fight is Guna’s ex-girlfriend. After the fight, Selvam decides not to wear slippers until he avenges the insult. Selvam is a photographer who runs a studio in his village. He has a close relationship with his mother (Nadiya Kalhara) and is respected in his village. However, he is not assertive and is often a pushover.

One day, Selvam takes a photo of something he was not supposed to and gets into a tiff with a local goon. The goon insults Selvam in front of everyone in the village. This is when Selvam takes his vow of not wearing slippers.

As the days go by, Selvam’s life starts to change. He starts to become more assertive and confident. He also starts to notice his childhood friend Valli (Namitha Pramod) in a new light. Valli is a school teacher and is visiting the village for a few days. Selvam starts to develop feelings for her and decides to express his love for her.

At the same time, Selvam’s mother is diagnosed with a serious illness. Selvam struggles to raise the money for her treatment. He decides to sell his studio and move to a bigger city to start a new business. However, he realizes that he cannot leave his village and his people behind. He decides to stay and fight the goon who insulted him.

The rest of the movie follows Selvam’s journey as he tries to avenge the insult and win over Valli’s love. The movie is filled with humor and heartwarming moments. The performances by the lead actors are top-notch.

M.S. Bhaskar gives an exceptional performance as Selvam’s father. He brings a lot of depth and emotion to his character. Nadiya Kalhara is fantastic as Selvam’s mother. She has a few emotional scenes that she handles with a lot of grace.

Udhayanidhi Stalin delivers a superb performance as Selvam. He brings a lot of charm and vulnerability to his character. He also has excellent comic timing, which adds to the humor in the movie. Namitha Pramod does a great job as Valli. She has a natural screen presence that makes her character very likable.

The movie is beautifully shot, capturing the essence of village life. The music by Darbuka Siva is excellent and adds to the overall feel of the movie.

In conclusion, Nimir is a heartwarming movie that celebrates the human spirit. It is a perfect blend of humor and emotion. The movie is an excellent example of Priyadarshan’s storytelling skills. It is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys feel-good movies.
