Ninnishtam Ennishtam is a popular Malayalam romantic movie from 1986, directed by Alleppey Ashraf and produced by Alwyn Antony. The movie stars Mohanlal and Priya in the lead roles while Sukumari, Lalu Alex, and Karthika among others appear in supporting roles. The movie begins with Devan (Mohanlal) receiving a newspaper advertisement for a secretary's job at Vaidyamadham, a traditional Ayurvedic centre run by Dr Madhav K Pilla (Lalu Alex). Devan, who is struggling to find a job, decides to give it a shot and goes to meet Dr Madhav. Despite some initial misunderstandings, Devan eventually gets the job and moves into the centre.

Meanwhile, Dr Madhav's daughter Anjali (Priya) returns from college in Chennai, much to the delight of the staff at Vaidyamadham. Anjali is shown as a cheerful and bubbly person who loves music and is well-liked by everyone. Devan and Anjali's paths cross when Devan accidentally bumps into her while carrying some Ayurvedic oils. They have a friendly chat, and it's obvious that they are attracted to each other.

As days pass, Devan and Anjali develop feelings for each other. However, they are hesitant to express their love fearing that her father won't approve of their relationship. Their love story unfolds subtly, with some lovely scenes between the two actors. The characters are well-developed, and the chemistry between Mohanlal and Priya is excellent. Their much talked about lip-locks were a highlight in the movie.

The movie then moves to a crucial point where Devan gets into some trouble after he mistakenly gives some expired Ayurvedic medicine to a patient, who ends up in a critical condition. Dr Madhav, who is furious with Devan, fires him and asks him to leave the premises immediately. Anjali is heartbroken by her father's behaviour and decides to help Devan.

The climax of the movie is well-executed, and the audience is left guessing until the end. My favourite part of the movie is the music, which is composed by Kannur Rajan. The songs are melodious and harmonious, and they perfectly complement the love story.

Mohanlal delivers a heart-warming performance, and Priya shines in her role as Anjali. They are ably supported by Sukumari, who essays the role of a wise old woman who has a soft corner for Devan. Lalu Alex does justice to his role as Dr Madhav and portrays the character's emotions convincingly.

Overall, Ninnishtam Ennishtam is an endearing romantic movie that captures the essence of love and its complexities. The movie was a commercial success upon its release and has since gained a cult status among Malayalam cinema fans.

Ninnishtam Ennishtam is a 1986 drama with a runtime of 2 hours and 5 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.5.
