Yukie is a bright young girl who has grown up in a home which encouraged her to go after anything in life that is worth chasing. She loves education and cannot wait to make a name for herself in the world. Yukie is soon to face a terrifying reality as she just receives the news that her father, a popular professor at the local university, has just been arrested thanks to his political teachings. To make matters even worse, she witnesses her boyfriend being arrested and eventually killed because of accusations of him being a spy. Now, Yukie must venture out into the real world and live life on her own with little help from anyone.
