No Vacancy is a comedy film about the lives of a unique assortment of hotel guests. Their storylines intersect at various points throughout the movie tying their fates together in unexpected ways. At the beginning of the film, several people have just spent the night at a hotel called the Pink Hotel. One woman, named Lillian, has woken up to find a strange man in her bed. The stranger is resistant to waking up and Lillian has a hard time convincing him that he is in the wrong room.

In another room, two men are entangled in a bed with two women they hired to spend the night with them.

A woman alone in her room is performing elaborate beauty routines with fruits and vegetables. A man alone in his room is on the floor doing push-ups.

In room 6, a man repeatedly pays a woman dressed as a mermaid $20 to sing Itsy Bitsy Spider.

The manager of the hotel is in the hotel diner with his daughter Ramona. He and Ramona are arguing over her choice of male companion.

As the day progresses, the various storylines continue to unfold. Lillian is still arguing with the stranger who we eventually learn is named Luke. A call to the hotel manager proves fruitless. As Lillian and Luke continue to argue their animosity lessens.

The man who was doing push-ups in his room has stopped and is now playing the violin with great intensity. The two buddies in the room next door, their paid guests having left, are bemoaning the arrival of their hangovers and implore the violinist to stop his playing.

Meanwhile, the hotel owner has befriended Ramona’s fiancé Michael over many shots of Tequila. Ramona finds them, and soon becomes angry with Michael and kicks him out.

Many of the characters meet at the pool outside the hotel where an unexpected visitor, played by Robert Wagner, causes them to work together.
