'Pancho Villa' is a spaghetti western style 'biopic' featuring film and television actor Telly Savalas as the main character, Mexico's revolutionist Pancho Villa. The plot of Pancho Villa chronicles the struggles of the main character in his quest to overthrow the Mexican government. In the process, he has a need to invade the USA to secure the weapons he needs. This movie contains as much comedy as it does drama. Actor Chuck Connors plays Colonel Wilcox, who deploys several officers to capture a lone fly buzzing inside a mess tent. Also making appearances in this film are Clint Walker who plays 'Scotty', Villa's American friend who buys guns for Pancho, and Anne Francis who plays 'Flo' -- one half of a bickering couple. Early in the first scene, Villa is getting his head shaved by his captors while sitting restrained inside a cage. Soon thereafter, he is rescued by a band of his confederates and then they are all on their way to taking over Mexico. Villa sends Scotty to Columbus, New Mexico to obtain weapons. While there, Scotty is cheated by an arms dealer and has to make it back to Villa while escaping ambush to inform him of what happened. Villa decides then to cross the border into Columbus to become the first person ever to invade the United States. While in the U.S. Villa is pursued by Colonel Wilcox who while not chasing Villa is disciplining the troops and dazzling crowds of onlookers with some fancy equestrian horse jumping skills. The battle lines are drawn, and Villa's force fights its way into town. The final scene shows an impending collision of two trains traveling on the same track toward each other. One commanded by the madman Wilcox. In the other is Villa's men. Villa and Scotty make their escape by decoupling the engine pulling their rail car and roll off to freedom.
