This is a western movie about a white man who was raised by a Pawnee chief. A small boy was found and raised by the leader of a Pawnee tribe. They called him Pale Arrow for his skin color. When he is of age, the chief sends him back to the world of the whites. He changes his name to Paul Fletcher and has become a wagon train guide.

The Pawnee want to make peace with the arriving settlers. Pale Arrow is a part of this peace effort. When the chief who raised him dies, this policy is changed and the war begins again.
