Poltergeist III is the third and final installment in the Poltergeist series. It differs from the first two films in that its setting is the city rather than the spooky suburbs. In this movie, the young Carol Anne Freeling is sent to live with her aunt and uncle in Chicago. She is there to attend a school for gifted children, where she is forced to discuss her experiences that were the events of the first two films. The reverend Henry Kane, who was put in a limbo in the previous film, overhears these conversations and plots to capture Carol Anne so she can bring him back from limbo. Carol Anne's cousin, Donna, and Donna's boyfriend, Scott, attempt to rescue her, but all three of them are captured by Kane and put into the limbo.
