The movie, Private Parts, stars Howard Stern. The film starts out by showing Stern boarding a plane to go home from the MTV Music Video Awards. During the ceremony, Stern is his alter-ego "Fartman." He was sitting next to Gloria during the ceremony, and she doesn't like him at all. Fartman tells Gloria his story of being abused by his dad, Ben, when Fartman was a child. As a child, Stern always wanted to on the radio. As he grows up, he becomes a socially awkward teenager.
Stern goes on to study communications at Boston University. He lands his first disco jockey job at the college radio station called WTBU. While at college, he falls in-love with Alison. Stern starts to make decent money at WRNW in Braiarcliff Manor, NY. With the pay increase, he can finally marry Alison. He quits his job as a disco jockey when has to fire a fellow DJ. Stern didn't agree with the discussion to let him go.
During 1979, Howard decides to go to WCCC in Hartford, CT. He becomes friends with Fred Norris, and Norris show's Howard how to become more friendly on the air. The pals get invited to Brittany Fairchild's new movie premiere. Brittany, Fred, and Howard end up in Brittany's hotel room. When Brittany strips for a bath, Howard ends up leaving the room. Alison finds wet underwater in his car, and she leaves Howard when she finds out what happened.
In 1980, Howard leaves his job in Hartford for a job in Detroit, MI. When Alison isn't around, Howard becomes miserable without Alison. She ends up forgiving him for what happened in the hotel room. When the Detroit station switches from rock to country music, Howard quits his job at the station. This is just a small part of the true story of Howard Stern!
