Ram Chand (Amitabh Bachchan) has accepted a position far below his aspirations and he relies heavily upon the advice of a co-worker, who upsets him by refusing to endorse his bride, Kusum Sharma (played by Tanuja). To his dismay, Ram Chand grows concerned that Kusum possesses a poor reputation. The plot revolves around this conflict. Farida Jalal, Mala Sinha also appear in the Bollywood film.
