Red is a Tamil language film from the year of 2002. Ajith is "R.E.D.," an orphan who managed to grow up as the don of Madurai. While Ajith is a compassionate man, he splits his time between punishing criminals and helping out students and orphans like himself. As Ajith goes about his life, he becomes attracted to Gayatri; a female related to his friend Narayanan. Ajith decides to help her without making his aid known and then begins to court her. Gayatri reciprocates Ajith's feelings, but expresses her hope that he will give up on his brutal way of life.
