British soldier Phillip Williams is presumed dead, and left behind in the 1982 Falkland Islands War. But later he's charged with desertion when he reappears several weeks after the end of the war. It turns out Williams is a victim of amnesia, a story no one believes. Not his hometown in England, nor his military comrades. Instead of a hero's welcome, Williams is treated as Persona Non Grata and is beaten by some of his military "friends". This movie illustrates clearly the dirty side of humanity. The movie is based on a real life story, where victory can be viewed as defeat, depending on the context of things.
