Watch Ripped Off

Ripped Off, also known as The Boxer was Italian crime drama that was written by Lucio Battistrada, Adriano Bolzoni, Armando Crispino and Don Carlos Dunaway. Produced by Ottavio Oppo, the film was directed by Franco Prosperi and features Robert Blake and Ernest Borgnine. The story follows Teddy Wilcox (played by Robert Blake) who goes by Cherokee due to this nationality. As a decorated Vietnam veteran, he is now a boxer and quite successful. He had to leave his manager after finding that he was stealing his earnings. Persuaded by his college buddy Mike, he lets Nick manage him since he is believed to be less corrupt.

However, Teddy soon finds out that his new manager is in fact trying to ensure that he loses each match so that he can cash in on various bets. Teddy strikes back and wins the match regardless, much to the dismay of the new manager.

While in the locker room, Nick is trying to figure out what his next move will be and things do not look good. When Teddy arrives, a masked man comes on the scene and murders Nick.

After some inquiry, Teddy is able to realize that the reason Nick wanted to throw the boxing match was because of threats from the mob who were running a lucrative bookie scheme. Teddy was totally unaware that any of fights were a part of the equation.

Teddy finds it difficult to find out who arranged for the hit on Nick since his entourage gradually becomes decimated. An investigation ensues and Inspector Perkins (played by Ernest Borgnine) believes that Teddy murdered Nick.

Perkins continues on a dogged exploration of the crime scene and uses his power to implicate Teddy until he is charged with the murder. Locked away in prison, Teddy has little to help him. No one is on his side, since it is well known that Nick was involved with the mob.
