A young couple, Cord and Mindy Lawrence, visit their cabin in the Colorado Mountains for a weekend and invite a seemingly weary and freezing woman to share the warmth of their home and their food. What they do not know is that their guest is Martha Cunningham, an inmate at an institution for the criminally insane who earlier that day butchered three employees while making her escape. Taking advantage of the young coupleÕs trusting nature, Martha overcomes and handcuffs them. Threatening to sever MindyÕs carotid artery with a straight razor, Martha forces them to play a game in which they each reveal secrets about themselves. In the meantime Sheriff Brand is joined by Gerry Lawson, deputy head of security at the asylum, to try to capture Martha. Learning that Martha is in the area they know they do not have a lot of time to apprehend Martha before she adds to the body count. As MarthaÕs sick game continues Mindy and Cord begin to realize that not only is there a method to MarthaÕs madness
but that Martha did not stumble onto their cabin by accident but is there with a far more sinister motive. They are forced to use all the ingenuity and courage they can muster if they and their unborn baby are to survive the night.
