SHEARING ANIMATION is one of two animated interpretations by Jim Henson of a musical composition from jazz drummer Chico Hamilton whom Jim met and collaborated with in 1961. New to animation, Jim experimented with moving cut paper and drawing and painting under the camera in an effort to convey emotions brought about by the aural experience. This short is part of a larger collection of rare early films by one of the world's most beloved storytellers and puppeteers: Jim Henson.
