This inspiring documentary tells the story of historic, small-town movie theatres, their owners and their movie-goers in the rural Midwest. If focuses on the theatres' origin and closings in the early and mid-1980s, the theatres' revival by, at times naive but well-intended, prominent community members, and consequent openhanded, volunteer-community support when faced with renovation, maintenance, operating costs and the struggle to survive competition from distant, large city Stadium Theatres.
