Watch Stanley and Stella in: Breaking the Ice

An early computer graphics animation short, about forbidden love. A large blue sphere contains many birds and fish, separated by a sheet of ice. Fish swim in schools below and are blocked from surfacing by the ice. Birds fly in flocks above and are blocked from diving into the water. Stanley, one of the birds, sees a fish swimming by itself just below the ice. He glides down and stands on the ice, peering through at Stella, the fish. Love is in bloom. But, the solid barrier prevents them from being together. It is Stella who thinks of a solution.
