Stone is a psychological drama film that explores the complex human emotions of guilt, redemption, and forgiveness. The movie revolves around the life of a convicted arsonist, Jack Mabry (played by Robert De Niro), who is about to retire from his job as a parole officer in a few days. He is assigned one last case, that of Gerald "Stone" Creeson (Edward Norton), a convicted arsonist and convicted of killing his grandparents.

Stone is about to become eligible for parole, and in order to secure his release, he sends his wife, Lucetta (Milla Jovovich), to seduce Jack and convince him to approve his parole. Jack is a devout Christian who is going through a mid-life crisis and is emotionally vulnerable. Lucetta uses this to her advantage and begins a sexual affair with Jack, in a bid to win her husband's release from jail.

The movie explores the themes of morality, faith, temptation, and the consequences of giving in to our desires. It delves deep into the psyche of the characters and explores their motivations, vulnerabilities, and desires.

The movie is shot in a gloomy, dim-lit manner, which adds to the dark, brooding atmosphere of the film. The performances by the lead actors are powerful and nuanced, with Robert De Niro depicting his character's inner turmoil and conflict with great skill. Edward Norton delivers a mesmerizing performance as a manipulative and scheming convict, whose innocence or guilt becomes a subject of debate throughout the movie.

The scenes between De Niro and Norton are the highlight of the movie, with both actors bringing out the complexity of their characters' personalities. The movie is not without its flaws, however. Some critics have pointed out that the plot becomes convoluted at times, and the pacing could have been better.

Despite these minor drawbacks, Stone is a gripping movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. It is a thought-provoking movie that raises important questions about the nature of justice, morality, and redemption. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers, then Stone is definitely worth watching.
