Watch Storms, Cyclones & Hurricanes
- 2007
- 9 min
With the aid of computer animations, this program explains how cumulonimbus clouds develop into thunderstorms and how cyclones or hurricanes form over tropical oceans. Tornadoes occur over landmasses-especially in the United States-and cover a much smaller area than cyclones or hurricanes. Within that small area, however, tornadoes can be incredibly violent. A sequence explains how houses are constructed to withstand tropical cyclones.
