Based on writer Bill Plumstead's novel, Loon, this Canadian feature film is a story about the effort it takes to heal past wounds and reach some level of redemption and peace of mind in life. Detective Conk Adams takes on a challenging case when someone discovers a body, either dumped or drowned, in a swamp that has the reputation for being able to heal people. But in order to unravel all of the mysteries surrounding the death of this bog body, Adams finds that he can no longer go it alone. The cranky, seasoned detective agrees to team up with a much younger woman, archeologist Catherine Nyland, in order to solve the case of the body recovered from the mysterious healing swamp waters. In the process of aiding each other on the case, both Adams and Nyland reveal the different ways in which their souls have sustained life-altering wounds over the years. But their unusual partnership allows both of them to get the chance to heal those wounds which have been frustrating their happiness.
