Mother Maggie has four children and she claims to live by the Bible, acting in alleged accordance with it. But this lifestyle does not lead to the type of nuclear family relationship that one might assume. Their dynamic is far from that of faith, loyalty, and love. But Mother Maggie feels that it is. She subjects each of her four children to so many levels of abuse, but claims that it is all in the name of the Bible, and therefore it is OK. Each of Mother Maggie's daughters lives in a state of constant crippling fear. What will be done to them next? Their mother is incapable of seeing the error of her way, as she thinks she is doing God's will. Trying to free themselves from their fearful lives with their mother turns out to be every bit as dangerous as if they stay.
