In hopes of escaping persecution, six people decide to jump off of a train during its brief halt in Switzerland in hopes of finding some sort of refuge. A German soldier, four Jews, and a small French child have to work together to live, and as they try to hide themselves among the locals, they all have to pretend to be a family. However after passing events, they are found out and the local constable has to determine what it is he should do in the situation.
