The Boy Mir is a documentary film that was released in 2011. The film is a coming of age flick where a young man Mir is growing up in Afghanistan. He and his family were living in a cave until a rebel group of Buddhas from Bamiyan came and destroyed their home. The family moves to the nearest village and Mir has to adjust to living in a new place. While in the village he goes to school. After school he helps his family in doing field work, but has a goal in becoming a schoolteacher. Throughout the film Mir helps his family and goes to school as well as staying alive. In the end of the film Mir explains how his life has changed for the better as well life in Afghanistan.
