The film was directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith, and stars Bruce Li as Bruce Lee, Caryn White as Betty, Betty Chen as Nora, and Ernest "Curt" Curtis as Richard. The Dragon Lives was released in 1977, following the death of Bruce Lee in 1973.

The story begins with Bruce Lee's untimely death in Hong Kong. The world was shocked by the news, and his fans worldwide mourned his loss. In Los Angeles, a young man who idolizes Bruce Lee named Billy (played by Curtis) is devastated and feels that the world has lost not only a great martial artist but also a hero.

Billy's girlfriend Betty (White) tries to console him and tells him that he should concentrate on something positive. She suggests that he should start a school teaching Bruce Lee's techniques. Billy agrees, and they begin planning the details of the school.

Meanwhile, Bruce Lee's loyal followers Nora (Chen) and Richard (Curtis) arrive in America to start a school of their own. However, they face obstacles from the Chinese mafia, who want to control the martial arts scene in America. The mafia boss Chu (played by Wei Ping-Ao) thinks that Chinese martial arts should only be taught by Chinese people. Nora and Richard decide to fight for their right to teach martial arts in America, and they become involved in a series of exciting and dangerous battles against the mafia.

As events unfold, Billy meets Nora and Richard and realizes that they are the only ones who can help him achieve his dream. Nora and Richard, in turn, realize that they need the help of an American to promote Chinese martial arts in America. They team up and form a partnership to fight against the mafia and to promote Chinese martial arts.

Bruce Li gives a brilliant performance as Bruce Lee, and his skill as a martial artist is on full display in this film. He not only captures the movements and style of Bruce Lee but also replicates his spirit and philosophy. Li's performance is so convincing that even Bruce Lee's family members praised him for his portrayal.

Caryn White also gives a good performance as Betty, the supportive girlfriend of Billy. She is a great character in the movie, adding depth and emotion to the film. Betty is caring, intelligent, and strong-willed, and is a perfect support for Billy.

Betty Chen and Ernest Curtis also fill their roles perfectly. Chen is compelling as Nora, a brave woman who fights for her freedom to teach martial arts in America. Curtis is brilliant as Richard, the wise and experienced Chinese martial artist who helps Nora avoid trouble and fights off the mafia.

The Dragon Lives is a great tribute to Bruce Lee, highlighting his impact on American and Chinese culture. The film is packed with action and excitement, from thrilling fight scenes to nail-biting chases. The fight sequences are masterfully choreographed, and the film's fight directors did an excellent job of creating intense action while preserving the authenticity of Bruce Lee's moves.
