The Drummer tells the story of the son of Kwan, who is a well-known and rather notorious gang leader in Hong Kong. Sid is arrogant and has been spoiled for most of his life, and while his father is trying to make something out of him, he prefers to spend all of his time hooking up with his girlfriend. It turns out that his girlfriend already has a boyfriend, who orders that Sid's hands get cut off, but his father sends him away instead. While he's gone, Sid learns more about his love for playing the drums and about life in general.
