The horrific crime of female genital mutilation is banned in the UK but it is estimated that nearly 20,000 women a year are still at risk of the procedure. And despite being banned more than 30 years ago there have been no successful convictions. This harrowing documentary, from reporter Cathy Newman, follows the work of DCI Leanne Pook and her team, who are tackling the crime in Bristol.

The FGM Detectives is a 2018 documentary with a runtime of 47 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.0.
