Malcus (Malchus): Who was this enigmatic man of the bible? What became of him? He was a man not unlike any other living in a time of severe repression of his people. But for his day, Malcus had it good: a middle-class working man who held a privileged position close to the seat of power. He was trusted by his master, respected by his peers, and, because of his position, enjoyed a certain celebrity status in his own right. All of this provided an arrogant, self centered vision of himself and supported the belief that he alone was in absolute control of his life; and that he needed no one or nothing to be complete.

His is the story of a simple servant who becomes swept up in extraordinary circumstance. He stood in the midst of the most powerful leaders of his day as they plotted the capture, torture, and murder of an innocent man; then found himself at the epicenter of the most infamous betrayal in history. With the flash of a blade, a spray of blood, and a miraculous healing touch, his entire world vanished; and everything, even life and death, lost all relevance. Then, knowing the absolute truth, he was forced to stand in silence as evil and deceit raged all around him; powerless to prevent the most profound mistake in the history of the world from happening.
