Mickey, her father, a laidback surf-rat, spurs her journey on as an aspiring writer using his iconoclastic absurdist vision of the world. Helena performs a season-to-season exploration around the carnival of beach life; watching the hopeful tourists, the bohemian locals, and the forgotten and lost who’ve reached the end of their map.
