Watch The Parent Trap
- 2 hr 9 min
Hayley Mills plays a set of identical twins that discover each other during a trip to summer camp. They are unaware that either one existed, and in the process, create a lot of mischief throughout their camp experience. They eventually cause the camp dance to be ruined, and are punished by having to be isolated together for the entire time they remain at the camp. The twins begin to realize what they have in common, their parents. Mitch and Maggie are the divorced parents played by Bryan Keith and Maureen O'Hara. Upon their divorce, they each took one child into custody. The twins want to meet their other parent, and devise a plan to switch places. Susan and Sharon take on each others roll, one in California, and the other in Boston. Sharon finds out that their father is going to marry a young gold-digger, and telephones Susan with the news. Susan explains to their mother what they have done, and the urgency of the situation. Maggie agrees to accompany Susan to California to halt the wedding. The girls are reunited, and plot to destroy the wedding. Through some deviousness, the girls treat the fiancee of their father, Vicky (Joanna Barnes), to some rude behavior. Their mother is somewhat approving of their behavior, and a little helpful in the process. The parents are soon drawn together by former attraction. Within no time the bickering that tore them apart in the first place begins, and it includes Vicky. The twins dress alike, and confuse the parents about who is who. They refuse to tell themselves apart until the couple go on a camping trip that the family attends every year. They reluctantly agree, and even Vicky goes along. The twins cause mayhem for Vicky, and she eventually slaps one of them. This event ends hers and Mitch's relationship. With the parents reunited their love blossoms once again. The movie ends with a wedding that includes both the twins in attendance.
